Even if you only visit Venice for a few days, you will begin to understand its eternal attraction for visitors.
Magical Venice, with its lattice-work of islands, canals and bridges, enchants all those who visit. Its labyrinthine streets, palaces and tiny squares are fascinating to explore.
History and art have combined with a unique setting to produce arguably, Europe's most beautiful city. The magical city of Venice is made up of 118 islands linked by 453 bridges. Venice thrives on tourism and draws over 12 million visitors a year. Catering for this influx of visitors, the cities population of 70,000 people continue their daily lives, working the bars, cafes and restaurants. Venice though is slowly sinking at the rate of approximately two inches every century. Terrible floods in 1966 caused much doom mongering and many people feared that Venice was about to be taken off the map.
Two of the most famous bridges are the Rialto, spanning the Grand Canal and noted for its bustling market, and the Bridge of Sighs, connecting the Doge’s Palace with its prisons.
Lido di Jesolo is set on the beautiful Adriatic coast looking out onto the Venetian Lagoon, Lido di Jesolo makes the ideal base for exploring the region. Venice is an hour away by boat, 30 minutes by bus.
Broad golden sands that
stretch for nearly 18 kilometres sum up Caorle. These beaches
also play host to musical evenings and firework displays.
